Comfort during your procedure

There is Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC) to keep you comfortable during your procedure. This technique is considered very safe with trained staff.

Anesthesia (MAC). Medications are administered through an intravenous (IV) line. These medicines work together to put the patient in a deeper level of 'sleep'. In this procedure powerful but extremely quick acting drugs are given by a trained anesthesia provider which render the patient unconscious. The most common drug used in this technique is the drug propofol. Although this technique is extremely safe, only professionals trained in anesthesia (i.e. CRNA) should administer this drug. When used properly, patients wake up extremely quickly and have less undesirable side effects. MAC is a wonderful technique to be used when people have outstanding medical problems or have had difficulty with sedation in the past.
